Patent Republic - O colectie de modele in miniatura - 31-07-2009
Aceasta colectie exista din cauza unei legi din Statele Unite ale Americii din perioada 1790-1870 care spunea ca inventatorii trebuie sa lase pe langa desenele si descrierile propriilor masini si un model miniatural al inventiei respective. Aceste modele au fost reunite in cadrul unei expozitii organizata de Universitatea Hardvard si numita Patent Republic. Colectia a fost tinuta in biroul de patentare foarte multi ani si apoi din cauza spatiului folosit in mod inutil colectia a fost mutata intr-unul din tunelele biroului mai sus amintit.
Acesta reprezinta un model de reprezentare a unui opritor pentru role ( partea de metal din spate), metoda folosita si azi.
In poza de mai sus se afla un "carbonizer" - aparat inventat de Thomas Edison cu ajutorul caruia se poate crea un arc electric.
Modelul reprezinta un mod pentru confectionarea de penite din alama creat de William O. Hickok.
Acesta este predecesorul aparatelor folosite in salile de fitnes inventat de George B. Windship in 1873.
Aceasta este o sa inventata de Clara A. Bartelett in 1864 care are proprietatea de a se putea ajusta marimea ei in functie de dimensiunile persoanei care o incaleca.
Modelul de mai sus reprezinta o masina de spalat vase inventata de Robert W. Chappell si Isaac Mayfield in 1876.
Aceasta este o masina de tricotat inventata de Eduard P. Curtiss in 1875.
In poza de mai sus se afla o bicicleta cu roata mare din 1879 si care apartine lui Sylvester Sawyer.
Acesta este suportul reglabil pentru perna. Reglarea se poate face cu ajutorul unui surub. Inventatorul este Emeline T. Annis, model patentat in 1868.
Imaginea reprezinta o baie electrica inventata de Mark W. House in 1862 in scopuri medicale.
Aceasta este o moara de vant inventata de George A. Roland in 1881 cu rolul de a impinge apa pe canale ( nu produce energie electrica).

Sacha Baron Cohen ( actorul care l-a interpretetat pe Borat) a facut o adevarata scena de striptease la emisiunea "The Tonight Show". Moderatorul Conan O'Brien a asistat neputincios la miscarile lascive si unele chiar vulgare ale comediantului mai sus amintit. Astfel, Borat a revenit in prim-plan dupa o perioada in care nu si-a facut simtita deloc prezenta. Cine vrea sa vada scena pueti sa o urmariti mai jos. De altfel, ce semeni - aia culegi, nu O'Brien?
